Antonio Conte is a famous Italian football coach. As a player he was a midfielder.
His debut on the football field took place in season 1985-1986 when Antonio Conte played for Lecce. He played his first Serie A match for Piza in 1986 when only 16 years of age. In season 1986-1987 Conte played 2 Italian Cup matches but being seriously injured afterwards (shinbone fracture), he had to spend much time to recover. Many players finish their careers due to suchlike injuries but enormous willpower helped the young 17-year-old footballer recover. First season with Conte on the Lecce main squad was marked with the team’s return to the elite.
In November 1991Conte joined Juventus from Turin. Antonio was proud to be a part of the club which featured such famous personalities as Roberto Baggio whose transfer once cost 14 mln dollars. A season later, Antonio became the team’s main squad player. The season 1994 being over, Antonio won all possible Italian trophies with the team. Unfortunately, European titles were missing.
Antonio Conte played for Juventus for 12 years. In 2004 he finished his career as a player and stayed with the club as a coach. In 2009 he coached Atalanta. On May 23, 2010 he signs a contract with Siena and on May 31, 2011 returns to Juventus as a head coach.
